jQuery presentation with George Adamson

George has been working hard presenting his jQuery talks throughout the country and this week, he gave his presentation at our VBUG group in Bracknell.

This was a really fun session and I particularly liked the way that that the premise of his talk was basically split up into how jQuery is used to:

1. Find stuff
2. Do stuff with what you’ve found

There was a great overview on how to use the $ syntax to find either single or multiple elements on a page.

Once elements have been found, there were some demonstrations of ‘applying stuff’ such as accordion style effects to <DL> elements. There was also a great demo of using jQuery to set the ‘mailto:’ link on hyperlinks in order to prevent spammers from harvesting email addresses found on web pages.

George’s slides can be found here:

For anyone who missed this, George will be repeating this session down in Portsmouth later on in July.

Thanks for presenting George!
